Steel laser cutting is a manufacturing process that uses a high-powered laser beam to cut through steel sheets or plates with precision.
Steel laser cutting is a manufacturing process that uses a high-powered laser beam to cut through steel sheets or plates with precision. The laser beam melts, vaporizes or burns away the material, creating a clean and accurate cut. The process is often used in metal fabrication to produce complex shapes and designs that would otherwise be difficult or impossible to achieve with traditional cutting methods.
The main materials for laser cutting are metal materials such as steel plates and stainless steel plates. Below are the steel laser cutting process:
(1) Steel plate blanking: cut or bend the corners of the steel plate based on the drawing and requirement (if the hole is needed, it can be cut after cutting), and mark it to facilitate the subsequent process operation.
(2) Steel plate marking: Draw marks on the plate.
(3) Plate positioning: Fix the plate to ensure the perpendicularity and parallelism; At the same time, ensure the upper and lower positions of the plate are correct.
(4) Focusing: Adjust the laser focal length to the operation position (generally using manual focusing); Adjust the focusing mirror height to the proper position and lock the lens; Check whether the spot size meets the requirements (generally 1.5mm~2mm).
(5) Test cutting:
1. Place the workpiece smoothly.
2. The workpiece covers the laser beam.
3. Keep the appropriate distance between the workpiece and the workbench.
4. Place the workpiece in the center of the mirror.
5. Test several times to make the system stable when starting to cut.
6. Stop when cutting operation finished .
Laser cutting is suitable for a wide range of application, for example carbon steel, alloy steel, aluminum, plastic, glasses and other compressed materials.
In addition, carbon steel within 20mm can be cut as requested. Laser cutting parts features smooth edge and there is no contact with the work piece. So it's rarely to cause scratches to the surface of the workpiece and ensures a high accuracy.
