The high chromium and nickel content of JIS SUS310S stainless steel provides comparable corrosion resistance, superior resistance to oxidation, and the retention of a larger fraction of room temperature strength than the common Austenitic Alloy 304. The lower carbon content reduces its high temperature strength compared to 310.
